the trip has come to an end, we are finishing our drive home tomorrow night. the last few days it snowed several inches, completing our snowboarding adventure. so many people to thank..lots of memories, made some new friends. on the way out of the ski resort on the last day, my car got stuck in the parking lot. it only took about two minutes before about eight guys surrounded us and pushed us free. one of the guys yelled at me to get snow tires, if only they knew that most nashville people dont know that such a thing exists.

here's a view from where we stayed.

rocky mountain high

we've spent the last two days snowboarding at a-basin and copper mountain resorts. so far i've spent 33 dollars on gear and lift tickets. thanks to friends of friends, we've got free tickets and gear to borrow, and this trip might be the cheapest week long snowboard adventure of all time. i think we've eaten out twice in four days. were supposed to get some serious snow tomorrow and saturday. the highlight of today was exiting the grocery store to the parking lot after getting food for the remainder of the week...it was just about dusk, heavy cloud cover with faint light shining through in patches, and enormous snow covered mountains in every direction. incredible.

here's some photos from nearly the top of copper mountain today.

james and mandy

i spent yesterday with james and mandy in tuscaloosa, alabama. they had a lovely afternoon wedding followed by a welcoming reception at the Jemison mansion. I felt right at home as I met their friends and family, including some friends mandy met in japan. The day seemed perfect in every way, and I couldn't of asked for better light. Congratulations you guys!

i spent last weekend in mississippi photographing racheal and jeff's wedding. it was really fun, a beautiful wedding in a spacious modern building, great warm weather, and plenty of great memories. they had cards set out for friends and family to write on and place inside this little wooden chest. i like how they made their exit in comfortable attire- congrats jeff and racheal!

thank god for good friends and large trucks.

the past few days have been a blur! i got back from chicago and basically had time to unload my car and sleep before loading back up to drive to jackson mississippi to photograph a wedding. hannah and i's mutual friends racheal and jeff were married saturday night, congratulations! it was a really fun night- i will post some of my favorites soon. afterwards hannah and i went in search of a cup of coffee, and she ended up getting stuck in some mud trying to pull into a gas station to ask directions. she called some good friends to come rescue us with their truck, who were on their way home from the wedding. with their help we worked for over an hour trying free the car, and finally called another friend who lived close by with a bigger truck, who managed to pull the car out single handedly. i have a new respect for southern people and their over sized vehicles.

over christmas break my mom showed me how to polish shoes properly, a skill i no doubtedly have need for.
